Meet the Author & Illustrator
Wendy Pinches is a South African citizen and has lived in Gqeberha, formerly known as Port Elizabeth, on the Eastern Cape coastline her entire life.
Wendy retired from teaching at the end of 2019 after agonising over her decision for more than a year. Having always nurtured the dream of writing and illustrating children’s books, she dabbled with various ideas until Anthony Ant was born.

How did Anthony Ant come about?
Wendy started writing Anthony Ant in 2019. She decided on an ant as the hero of her story and wanted him to teach the reader a life lesson. What this lesson should be, only became clear while watching ‘The Voice SA’ on television that year.
